AI-Powered Features and Third-Party AI Services

Doost includes an AI-powered conversation assistant ("Wingmate") that provides personalized conversation suggestions and match insights. This feature is powered by Anthropic's Claude API, a third-party AI service.

What Data Is Sent to Anthropic

When you use the Wingmate feature, the following data is sent to Anthropic to generate conversation suggestions:

• Your profile information (interests, Q&A answers, communication style preferences)
• Your match's profile information (interests, Q&A answers, communication style preferences)
• Your conversation history with that match

How Anthropic Handles Your Data

• Data sent to Anthropic via its API is processed solely to generate a response and is not used by Anthropic to train its AI models.
• Anthropic may retain API inputs and outputs for a limited period for safety and abuse prevention purposes, in accordance with Anthropic's usage policy.

Your Consent

Before the Wingmate feature is activated for the first time, you will be asked to review and consent to the sharing of your data with Anthropic. You may decline, in which case the Wingmate feature will be disabled but all other app features will remain available. You can change your preference at any time in the app's Settings.

Purpose and Limitation

Data shared with Anthropic is used exclusively to generate conversation suggestions and match insights within the Doost app. We do not share your data with Anthropic for any other purpose, including advertising, profiling, or resale.

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

• Other Users: Your profile information and messages are shared with users you match with.
• Service Providers: We use third-party services for hosting, analytics, authentication, and AI-powered features (e.g., AWS, Cognito, Anthropic).
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
